According to SM Entertainment, Joy cannot participate in Pyongyang because of the individual schedules that collide. The hit singer 'Red Flavor' had to undergo filming for the drama 'Great Temptation'.

However, the decision sparked controversy. The government claimed not at all notified by SM Entertainment about Joy who could not come along with Red Velvet. Moreover, the decision was made the day before the event was held.

The South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Affairs admits to knowing the news from the media. Netizens also considered SM Entertainment less professional because it did not tell it long ago.

"If they can not perform complete, it should be another group to replace!" said one of the netizens.
"This is not an ordinary music show, what are they doing? They should ask another group to replace Red Velvet!" added another.
